Description
A nostalgic family recipe made with canned salmon and saltine crackers, pan-fried until golden.
Ingredients
2 cans salmon, drained and flaked
About 30 saltine crackers, crushed, divided
2 eggs, beaten
Lemon pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, to taste
Optional: finely chopped onion or green onions
Oil, for frying
Instructions
Drain the canned salmon and flake it into a bowl.
Mix in the crushed saltine crackers, beaten eggs, and seasonings until well combined.
Use a 1/2 cup measure to scoop the mixture and shape into patties about 4 inches across and 1 inch thick.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with oil. Fry the patties for about 8 minutes on the first side.
Flip and cook for 5-6 minutes more, until golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
Alternative: bake at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway, or air fry for 6 minutes plus 2 more minutes for a crispy exterior.
