How to Make Greek Yogurt Brownies: A Guilt-Free Chocolate Treat

These Greek Yogurt Brownies are the ultimate guilt-free indulgence! Made with rich cocoa, creamy Greek yogurt, and dark chocolate, they offer a fudgy texture with less fat and more protein than traditional brownies. Perfect for a healthier dessert option without sacrificing taste!

  • Total Time: 30-35 minutes
  • Yield: 9-12 brownies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients:

  • ½ cup plain full-fat Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup dark chocolate (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

Optional Mix-ins:

  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prepare – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Melt Chocolate – In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate using a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals. Stir until smooth.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients – In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted chocolate until smooth.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients – In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Make the Batter – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix!
  • Fold in Extras (Optional) – Stir in chocolate chips or nuts for added richness.
  • Bake – Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool & Serve – Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra fudginess, slightly underbake the brownies and let them cool completely before slicing.
  • To make them dairy-free, use coconut-based Greek yogurt and dairy-free chocolate.
  • For a protein boost, add 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder and adjust wet ingredients slightly.
