Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box yellow cake mix (plus ingredients to prepare it) 🍰
- 2 cups vanilla pudding (prepared) 🍮
- 2 cups milk 🥛
- 1 cup heavy cream 🍶
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 🍫
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 🧈
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 🌼
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the yellow cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in the prepared dish. Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake about 1 inch apart.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the prepared vanilla pudding and milk until smooth.
- Pour the pudding mixture evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes. Smooth the top with a spatula and refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or until set.
- For the chocolate ganache, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer (do not boil).
- Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips, butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and glossy.
- Pour the ganache evenly over the chilled cake and spread gently with a spatula.
- Refrigerate for an additional hour to let the ganache set completely.
